Victor High School Golf Team | Rochester, NY

What did they raise money for?
Victor Golf raised money for equipment including golf bags, shirts, and jackets.  In addition, we utilize the money to financially support our team members who enter competitions outside of the season and participate in practice clinics.

Why did this help with their sports program’s success?
This allowed us to supplement the funds that we receive from the district so that we could brand our team with professional gear.  The additional practices and competitions during the off-season allows our  team members to continue to improve so that we are a stronger team each year!

Fairport Boy’s Lacrosse | Rochester, NY

What did they raise money for?
Fairport Boy’s Lacrosse raised money towards the filming of all their lacrosse games. The film from each game was put on to a DVD which was then duplicated so every player on the team could have a copy. At season’s end, each player had a copy of every game on video from the 2010 lacrosse season.

Why did this help with their sports program’s success?
Giving each player video on every game that Fairport Lacrosse played was a very important teaching tool. Players could watch the film to see what they need to improve on for the next season. Also, having the game video helped with the athlete’s recruiting process. Many college lacrosse coaches like to see video on a recruit. Having this film allowed Fairport players to send the coaches video on their lacrosse play.

Greece Athena Basketball | Rochester, NY

What did they raise money for?
Greece Athena Basketball raised money for team apparel, after-game meals, and their post-season banquet. Furthermore the money raised will also help pay fees for team members to play in leagues during the off-season.

Why did this help with their sports program’s success?
The apparel, meals and banquet were all done to help make the student-athlete experience more enjoyable. These experiences are also important for team bonding. By helping to pay for their out-of-season leagues, players can get better in the off-season. In today’s competitive environment of high school basketball, players must be on the courts year round to be able to compete at the highest levels.
